It was the California State Poker Championship. A No-Limit Hold ‘Em Event. Jose Canseco was one of six special entrants for this tournament. Was it loosely defined celebrity poker? No.
Jose Canseco? He wanted to be the California State Ladies Only No-Limit Champion. The tournament was meant only for the fairer sex, but Jose?
Jose wanted to beat the women. Not literally, but the green baize was going to be his on this day.
Or so he thought. Turns out, the ladies have poker skill that can be deemed mad. Either that, or Jose just sucked.
He was the first dude whom busted out in the ladies only event.
Jose Canseco. American Hero. Role Model.

I always liked Jose. He was a great player for a while and he was an interesting contestant on ” The Sureal Life Fame Game”.
