The Grand National Championships

I fear I am slowly becoming Stephen A. Smith.

Why. Because of Curly Fries. Seriously, Curly Fries are my cheesy doodle snack food of choice. And if I may say, they are DELICIOUS!

Sorry.

I love curly fries. I love yelling. I wish to be paid for both.

But the young Mister Smith seems to have beaten me to it. It’s not that I hate Mister Smith. I’m sure if the camera’s are off, he seems like a good person.

Then again? He’s been working on ESPN for a while now. You lose a certain sense of perspective after which you work at the Worldwide Leader.

After all, it was Deadspin that once reported…

I was recently EMailed by an Assistant Associate Audience Producer for Quite Frankly with Stephen A. Smith. Apparently, our own Dusty Baker will be on the show on Monday, July 24th at 11:15am, and they want some loud, raucus Cub fans to be there to boo or cheer Dusty as they see fit. No, actually, they just want us to boo him. The AAAP said, and I quote, “You guys can definitely feel free to BOO Dusty if you so please.”

Yes, Stephen A. is a class individual, and seeing as it’s draft day New York this week. I will leave you with Screamin’ A. The YouTube Travishamockery.

  4. That’s funny I feel like I’m becoming Bill Simmons. By that I mean that my writing is becoming infrequent, poorly written, and unfunny. I also find myself writing about nothing except the Celtics draft implications.

  5. Nice post. Stephen A was actually pretty chilled out the one time I met him in the Yankees’ press room. It was right after the Eddy Curry trade, and he offered some knowledgeable, reasonable and calm thoughts on the trade, saying essentially that if you didn’t hire Larry Brown, you don’t make that deal. (Didn’t say it proved right, ha.)

palestinmiami – I did actually enjoy Simmons’ NHL draft diary column, more than anything he’s written in a hot minute.

  6. Those of us in the Philly area are treated to Stephen A’s columns in the Philadelphia Inquirer on a regular basis. One of things that has always struck me about his articles is they are peppered throughout with exclamation points!!!!! He’s fired up in print as well as live!!!!!

Curly fries are addicting and should be issued only with a prescription. None of this over-the-counter stuff.

  7. I usually like Steven A. Smith, but I’m afraid for you. I think you should get a spiritual cleansing to prevent this metamorphosis. However, I love curly fries. They’re absolutely delish.
