But for me? North Carolina hoops is remarkably inoffensive. Really. Sure, the random white guy big man superstar does not engender much sympathy for an unbeaten team*. But in comparison to the Yankees, the city of Boston, or Duke?
I would have to root for UNC.
(*But they are not unbeaten anymore.)
Maryland is not the team of superstars that they were early in the decade. They have lost to American, Ohio, and Virginia Commonwealth at home. But this was a masterful game for Gary Williams and his crew.
This may be the only time you’ll see them being magic, but going down to the DeanDome and beating the #1 team in the country is definitely not too shabby.
