Brew Crew Ball has found a really unfortunate connotation. For those of you that don’t know, the Brewers have an affiliate in the Low Class A South Atlantic League. They call themselves the West Virginia Power. And like any good minor league affiliate, they have merchandising.
This is their home jersey. It is available for 65 dollars and goes to size XXL. But that’s not exactly the problem, now is it?
Here’s what they’re selling the thing as.
That’s right. A West Virginian Baseball team is selling a White Power Jersey. If you want your White Power Jersey. You can order online. I know David Duke’s excited on hearing this news.
Oh, and it so easily could have been called a Home Power Jersey too.
THIS RACISM IS TEARING US APART!

For clarification, the “white” and “black” on the website are indicative of the actual color of the “Power jersey.”
Hence, it’s a Power jersey that is white, not a “White Power” jersey.
Given your blatant disregard for grammar evidenced by the rest of your post, however, I can’t say I’d expect you to understand this concept. (e.g.: ending sentences with a preposition, disagreement of tenses within sentences, fragment sentences, etc.)

Mr. Teufelmann, Myles, it is not bad to laugh at this situation. It was presented in a comedic context. In turn, if a belly laugh or two came from the post, it does me as well as you good.
(But if it makes you feel better, it did amuse the Nation of Islam Sportsblog greatly.)

Thank you for your comment in regards to grammar. I would discuss this matter further, but with my fairly hilarious posting schedule I cannot.
Just know that you are in my thoughts and prayers to get that humor transplant you seem to be in need of. Or failing that, a good lesson in historical connotation, as that is what this post was based on.
The senior Senator of the great state of West Virginia knows what I’m talking about. He was one of those members of that one group whom shouted “White Power” on a regular basis. You know, those guys who go on Springer and have a KKK Khristmas?

I really hope this is meant as satire–if you are actually suggesting that the description of the jersey with the color of the jersey written like this: “(white)” is somehow racist–then we are all truly lost. If this is satire–good job–hillarious work.

That team used to be called the “alleycats,” which was a pretty forgettable and meaningless (if endearing) name for a baseball team, and I enjoyed not a few games out there. But West Virginia, being a colony for coal extraction with a legislature that phones coal executives for permission to wipe their bottoms, couldn’t have such a name, so now we’re blessed with a team that reminds us that “coal keeps the lights on,” in case we’re ever in danger of forgetting. I laughed at your post, but the sad truth is that name refers to the fact that coal, not democracy, is the real power in WV.

Now that is nitpicking! If they only have “white” players on the team, I could see it, but it is not as if they have nooses as a team symbol. Gatorade is not aimed at giving alligators power, ya know.
