STRENGTHS: The offense is explosive (42 PPG, 500 YPG). Chase Daniel is the wheelman for a very potent passing game and while you may not know whom Tony Temple is, pro scouts have their eye on this running back. Two veteran D-Tackloes anchor a pretty good run defense.
WEAKNESSES: But if the offense can play pinball, you can bet against them on 4th and 1. They cannot ground it out. Also, the pass defense is 98th. It is, as the kids say, no bueno.
SUPERSTAR: Daniel
NAMES TO KNOW: Temple, Martin Rucker-TE, Chase Coffman-TE, Will Franklin-WR, Jeremy Maclin (11 TD’s, he’s scored once every 11 times he has touched the ball.)
LIKELY SPOILER: Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game. (It’s an easy choice.)
BCS CHANCES: 20% (They lost to Oklahoma in Norman this October. If they beat Kansas, they will have to play Oklahoma in San Antonio. If they beat Oklahoma, odds are they will still need help to make the championship.)
RANDOM POP CULTURE AVATAR
Chromeo. They have been favorites among the hipsters for a while now. The Brad Smith sessions? Tremendous! But now? The Manic Indie Thrill has a chance to transmogrify into the Manic Pop Thrill. And if Chase Daniel can drop a dominant beat? Hello Heisman!
