I think I’m maybe one of 20 people who actually watched game 3 of the NBA finals. It was a good game up until the last few seconds when Lebron James taking the last shot got FOULED and there was NO CALL! I’m still fuming over this so I won’t get into it now. I have something else to talk about.
ABC and ESPN need to give NBC and TNT every single NBA game. This especially means the playoffs and the finals.
I’m a guy who likes but doesn’t love the NBA, except for a few players (Adam Morrison, Gilbert Arenas to name a few). Basically the thing that keeps me watching the NBA is the announcing and commentary. I think the best example of great pre-game, half-time and post-game analysis is the crew from TNT.
Comprised of Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, Reggie Miller!, and Sir Charles Barkley! This Fearsome foursome rules the airways when it comes to the NBA. They’re both smart and suave yet comical and just make you feel like you’re in on the in-jokes. While TNT is the best, anytime there is an NBA game with Bob Costas doing commentary I am there to watch that game.
I dont’ know what it is about Costas, maybe it’s the fact that he was in Pootie Tang and my favorite sitcom ever, NewsRadio. Or is it that he loves to do bits for Conan O’Brian? Either way I love watching Costas! I bet Costas, with the help of the Sklar Brothers of Cheap Seats fame, could make the National Spelling Bee one of the biggest events ratings wise in years!
Before I got sidetracked by showing off my man-love for TNT and Costas, I wanted to let you know the real reason why I hate ABC. Besides having ESPN’s horrendous lackey’s proclaiming the series as over, and then going to Stephen A Smith so he can yell himself into another hernia about how Lebron is a great player but the Spurs will win. ABC decided to do something that will make any red blooded sports fan go..WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?
That was Steve Sidwell and the Hollywood Film Chorale performing one of several openings for the 2007 NBA Finals on ABC. First off, is ABC SERIOUS? Do they really think people want to hear crappy A’capella music right before the NBA Finals? Furthermore, there is only one A’capella band that knew how to rock and or roll!

ROCKAPELLA! The house band for the best show about finding terrorists, “Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?”
Keep it rockin Rockapella!
ELVI!
